There is no state where you can't use this
What changes is the method:
- Surcharge — a separate card line on the receipt. Legal in most states, capped at 3%.
- Dual pricing — you show a cash price and a card price. Legal everywhere.
- Cash discount — one shelf price, with a discount for paying cash. Legal everywhere.
Where a surcharge line is banned, we switch you to dual pricing or cash discount automatically. You don't have to figure it out.
True everywhere
- Debit cards can never be surcharged.
- The card amount can never exceed what the card actually costs you.
- The customer has to be told before they pay — at the door, at the register, and on the receipt.
- The surcharge cap is 3%.
